About Affirmations

It is important to remember the three Ps when using affirmations - they must be Personal, Positive and in the Present tense.

Affirmations must be short and to the point. They have much greater impact when you speak them out loud or write them down - preferably both!

Affirmation Cards are a good way of using affirmations. There are many ways of using them and you can be as inventive and creative as you wish. Here are some ways in which the cards have been used.

1. Relax, take a couple of slow deep breaths and then shuffle the pack and spread or cut the cards to choose one – perhaps asking ”What do I need to affirm right now?” Some people like to choose one each day and prop it up where they can easily read it, repeating it to themselves often throughout the day. You may find that the same cards deeps appearing which will be just right for you!
2. You may be aware that some of the cards are affirming what is already true for you. It is good to reinforce positive attitudes in your life, However, some people prefer to shuffle through the pack until they find an affirmation which is not yet true for them but feels relevant. They then work with this in a variety of ways until it has been absorbed by the subconscious.
3. Write out an affirmation and then follow with any negative thoughts or reactions to it. Continue repeating the process eight times for twenty-two days.
4. Write an affirmation many times on a large blank piece of paper forming patterns or pictures with the lines of words.
5. Write an affirmation on different colours, noting which seems to be the most powerful for you.
6. Sit holding an affirmation card and enter a relaxed state and contemplate the meaning, asking your higher Self what action you might take in order to bring it more fully into your life. Follow your inner guidance!
7. Enclose affirmation cards in letters to friends. The positive thoughts that you give out come back to you multiplied.
8. Use the cards in home-made Christmas Crackers.
9. Sing or chant the affirmation whilst dancing or exercising.
10. Act as if the affirmation were true for you right now.
11. Say the affirmation out loud with conviction to sympathetic friends.
12. Use the cards as place cards when you have people to dinner.
