I am a Devon lass twelth generation on my mothers side. I love the countryside and adore animals. I am very much a people person. I get along well with everyone.
Since I was eighteen I have been in the nursing profession. I have a love of life, which I value above all things. Especially as I have now fully recovered from the cancer that attacked me during the 1980's. I had much conventional treatment for which I am most grateful and without which perhaps I would not be writing to you now.
While the cancer was in full swing, I began to look at complementary therapies. I discovered healing which did wonders for my inner energies at this time.
I studied in India the long proven techniques of the vegetarian diet. I used this knowledge to take a holistic approach to myself.
I was introduced to meditation as a way of focusing my energies on recovery, I found it a useful tool. (People have strange ideas about meditation - they picture you sitting cross legged in lotus position on the floor chanting - it is not like that at all). It is a way of allowing us to be in contact with our soul's energy.
It was about this time that I discovered massage. The therapist that I saw was an amazing lady, so loving and kind, and its benefits far exceeded my expectations. I began to be really in touch with myself, mentally and spiritually.
It was at this point that I resolved to study massage and, when the cancer eventually subsided, I began my studies.
So it was that my new life began. I took courses in massage, reflexology & aromatharapy, practising what I learnt on myself . Feeling whole again, I continued my studies. I felt I had known massage all my life - it felt right. When I qualified, I set up my present practice - that was six years ago. I have continued my investigations and studies in England and India.
It is a wonderful feeling to serve others. My life is my massage, my massage is my life.
