Vera Waters is an inspiring teacher who has a great belief that the ‘power of love’ is a great healer for the self and others. We all have our stories to tell. However, we live in a culture that does not support or listen well to these stories. In my own personal and professional development, I have slowly and sometimes painfully had to review ‘who am I?’ and ‘what is my soul purpose?’ – what am I supposed to be doing on this planet?

Shamanism has been a way of finding that purpose for me – and has brought me knowledge and gifts of many kinds. I have worked in many different professions, spanning the worlds of social work, probation and team management, psychotherapy and parent training.

It has all been a journey to bring many skills and knowledge together. Shamanism has given me a sense of belonging to the greater source of energy which, in turn, gives me much more openness and compassion. I strongly believe that we can follow a path that brings us happiness, in which ever form that is for us as individuals. I love being passionate about my work and I know that this brings me in touch with lots of other wonderful people. I realise that my path is not ‘one thing’. I’m a person who loves networking, ideas, creating projects, dreaming, dancing, laughter! I’m a gypsy, a mother, a worker, a good friend who is reliable (although sometimes late!), and who gets in a muddle sometimes and lives more in ‘creative chaos’ rather than being very ‘organised’. I enjoy teaching and sharing our many skills and knowledge. It is so wonderful to watch ourselves ‘flowering’ and remembering our true selves. This is what living in this Age is all about, I believe.

My recent project was ‘Family Holistic Holidays’. This was a pilot scheme in Dorset and has proved to be a great success. It started as a little dream that I had a few years ago. (My rather impatient self has discovered that dreams can take a while to unravel and arrive in this reality!) From this seed another project is beginning to ‘flower’ – the dream of a Centre to embrace many of these ideas. Watch this space for the development of this dream!
