Directions to Seathwaite Rayne:
From the south -
Leave M6 motorway at Junction 16 and proceed to Windermere and then on to Ambleside.
Take the one-way system through Ambleside, following signs to Grasmere and Keswick. After a left-hand turn at the top of Compston Road, the road becomes two-way again.
After 50 yards, just after the Glasshouse restaurant on the left, at a mini-roundabout, take a very sharp right-hand turn, signposted Kirkstone. The Golden Rule pub is immediately on your right as go up the hill up Kirkstone Road.
Follow this narrow, steep winding road for about 500 yards, until you are in open countryside (the road is walled). Immediately after the speed delimitation signs, take a right-hand turn into an unnamed lane. Continue past the first house on the right, just on the lane (Seathwaite) and travel for a further 50 yards to a private drive on the right, Seathwaite Rayne. The house is away from the lane, about 20 yards along the drive, through the trees.
